Nashville | Tennessee​

This is my home city, albeit very different these days that when I was growing up.  Returned from San Diego first of August 2023 after fifteen years.  This Nashville did not exist when I left.  With that said, I dig it, mostly.  Reach out for recs, because I have a million.​

Broadway.  If you want to party.  Avoid if not.

Second Avenue.  The street is reopened, finally.  It's way more chill than Broadway, but still downtown.  I'm old, so I'm not down there much.  Definitely nice having it back open, though.  I designed two Airbnbs in one of the buildings hit by the bombing.  Hopefully they get the building open soon.  They're really nice.  And there's a Taco Bell Cantina.

L27.  My personal favorite rooftop bar/restaurant - top of The Westin.  They have a pool, cabanas and great food.

Bourbon Steak.  I've only been to the bar, which is amazing, but it's a top=notch steakhouse.  

The Harriet, Denim, Lou/na, Proof & Hampton Social.  All great rooftops and there are more in town, too.  Most of the Broadway bars have rooftops, too.

The Henry.  In 12 South and absolutely worth the visit, hands down.

Urbn Grub.  Also in 12 South, but not open for lunch during the week.  Brunch on the weekends.  Amazing.

Velvet Taco.  The brisket taco is unmatched.

Edley's Tacos.  Just opened in Sylvan Park and Melrose.  Really damn good!

Pie Town Tacos.  Simply amazing.  Street tacos.  Will take you back to the west coast if that's what you're used to.

Dreamburger.  Amazing burger truck in East Nashville.

Bill's Sandwich Palace.  I've only been once, but it was great and everything looked amazing!

Ma's House Food Cart.  Find her on IG and see where she is.  Hot dogs are legit amazing!

SATCO.  Best hangover tacos in town.  You're gonna need it.

Bakersfield Nashville.  Second best hangover tacos in town.  Closer than SATCO.

*Teddy's Tavern.  In the Broadway mix, but feels like old Nashville.  Great live acts!

*MJ's Chill Spot.  Small locals bar next to Printer's Alley.  MJ is a long-time downtowner.  Go see em!

Category 10.  Second Avenue finally reopened [partially].  Great river view rooftop!

Fishmonger.  Amazing seafood & raw bar spot!
*Doc Holliday's.  A rare holdover from the old days.  Definitely worth a stop-in.

*Corner Pub [Green Hills and elsewhere].  Old school corner spot.  Worth the drive.

**Lakeside Lounge.  OG & dive as hell.

**The Red Door.  Staple dive bar in Midtown.

*The Green Light Bar.  Only been once, briefly, and very drunk.  Cool spot.  Will go back.  Maybe.

The Greenhouse Cannabis.  Weed.

Frugal MacDougal's.  Best liquor store in town/on Earf.

The Cleo.  Lovely place.  Lovely food.  Not my vibe, but it's nice.  Like The Lafayette in San Diego.

The Finch.  I need to go back.  It's beautiful and the food was good.  It deserves another go.  I need to check out whatever's in Union Station next door, too [October 2026 as I write this].  Haven't been since like 2007.
Oak Steakhouse.  Went once and very far from sober, but it's great.  Also deserves another visit.  Beautiful steakhouse at The Westin.

*ML Rose.  Several around town.  Solid burger & sports bar!

Music City Center.  Convention center in the middle of town.  Architectural wonder.  Really worth just walking around.

Woodland Street Bridge.  Best skyline shot is from the east side of this bridge, in my opinion.  The pedestrian bridge is great, but the better angle is from over here.  Gotta walk a bit, but it's worth it.  Also going to be the least busy if there's traffic unless it's stadium traffic.
